AOTL Septic Service: field and back office operations app
Replaced paper and clipboards for a multi truck septic company. Techs capture jobs on site, customers get same day service reports, and critical issues reach the office in Slack within seconds.

The Problem
Always On The Level (AOTL) Septic Service was running multi truck field operations on paper, clipboards, and end of day phone calls back to the office. Service reports were rekeyed by hand. Customer history lived in three places. Critical issues, like a tank that needed urgent attention, depended on a tech remembering to call.
The Solution
A field and back office platform built around how AOTL actually works. Field techs capture jobs on site. The back office gets clean, structured service reports with photos and notes, the moment the job is done. Customer history is in one place. Slack alerts fire automatically when a tech flags a critical issue.
Architecture
- Next.js + TypeScript application
- PostgreSQL via Supabase for customer, job, and report data
- Slack API for critical issue alerting to the back office
- Mobile first UI for in field capture
- PDF generation for customer facing service reports
Results
Eliminated paper and clipboard handoffs. Same day service reports, automatically generated from field input. Back office sees critical issues in Slack within seconds of the tech flagging them. Customer history searchable in one place instead of three.
What This Demonstrates
A real local small business can have enterprise grade operations software when you build it for their workflow, not for a generic vertical SaaS template they have to bend around.
